11.5 – SJW Week 9 Predictions

McAfee’s Colts (2-14) vs The Walking Dez (4-12)

Congrats on your first win Coach vZ; a 2-0 to boot! Looks like half his squad is questionable this week, but the only one Im really concerned about playing is Hilton with a foot issue that’s kept him out of practice so far. Even if he can go, he’ll have his work cut out for him vs DEN. Djax is on track to return from his hamstring issue, but expectations should be tempered for the speedster. Cam battled the elements (and Ginn’s dropsies) and wasn’t able to bring home a W for Jeremy on MNF, but maybe he’ll have a little more luck vs GB. Jeremy’s studs, Ivory and Evans, have great matchups this wk and I expect Andrews/Barnidge/Snead/Yeldon will help him break this 7 game losing streak.

My Pick: The Walking Dez

Ellen Mao (10-6) vs Team BBC (4-12)

The most vaunted WR corp in the league took a huge hit when Mao lost Keenan Allen to a lacerated kidney last week. Brown, Maclin, and Decker remain and LaFell is ascending so the group is still pretty solid, but now the big question is what the duo of Demarco and Forsett give Drew ros. Josh’s free fall has coincided with the struggles of Rodgers and Lacy. Bryants first three weeks pretty much encapsulates the range of his weekly outcomes. An already fragile team could hardly afford to lose any player, much less one as valuable as Steve Smith. With that, Josh is forced into starting the likes of Hankerson and Hogan. A matchup vs CAR severely dampens expectations for Rodgers and Lacy this week so Drew should be able to make some positive headway in the standings this week with a win.

My Pick: Ellen Mao

FAAB Couch (6-10) vs Show Me Your TDs (5-11)

It’ll be tough, but I believeee!!!!

My Pick: FAAB Couch

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK: Team Reffe (11-5) vs The Limping Dez (10-6)

This matchup is actually quite interesting not bc of the strong records of both teams, but because of some of the choices in starters both teams have made this week. In lieu of Matt Ryan, Dylan has opted to go with Jay Cutler. Ryan hasn’t been quite the solid fantasy QB he was expected to be coming into the season. Outside of Julio, he simply doesn’t have many, if any, reliable receiving threats. Cutler on the other hand has been a steady 16-20 fantasy pt scorer since his return in week 4, even looking spry while scrambling for a TD last week. SD’s seemingly pass defense that started the season strong, holding some good WRs to weak outputs, has struggled recently so maybe the matchup isn’t as bad as it appears. Aleks/Adrian have actually decided to dodge the DEN matchup completely by benching him for Carr this week. Carr just decimated NYJ so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him have a strong week vs PIT.

Both teams boast a strong RB coupled with a PCB this week. Also, both are down a top WR, Dhop for Dylan, Fitz for Aleks/Adrian. Too bad Lynch is also BYE for Dylan because Im not sure if his trio of WR3’s, Garcon/Matthews/Floyd can compete with a team with Odell not to mention Cooks/Crabtree and a limping Dez ( 😉 ).

My Pick: The Limping Dez

Deflate deez nuts (16-0) vs Team Varma (10-6)

It’s a good thing Shubh had that extra RB because it seems that Forte will be out for the next few weeks. Even more reliant on Hurns and Jones with Calvin on BYE this week, Shubh doesn’t really have the advantage at any position this week and barring the world coming down on the Patriots, is probably staring at a loss this week or as he would call it, “bad luck” xDDD

My Pick: deflate deez nuts

Team Chandra (8-8) vs love 2 collude (10-6)

This one is also a bit of a toss up, but I will give the edge to Tyler this week. Both teams can be carried by their studs (Gurley/Julio; Ingram/Alshon), but I think Cobb has a harder go of it than Arob and Vishnu’s weekly hedge of starting both CIN RBs comes up short vs Tyler’s RBs.

My Pick: love 2 collude

Last Week: 2-4, Overall: 27-21
